Privacy Policy

Kindness Community Foundation (“KCF”, “we”) is the public brand of KCF LLC, a California-registered company (nonprofit registration in progress). This policy explains, in plain language, what information this website collects, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what you give us and basic usage analytics, we do not sell personal information, we do not run advertising or ad profiling on this site, and we do not process payments here.

Information you give us

When you fill in a form on this site — volunteering, the newsletter, a team application, or the contact form — we receive what you type: typically your name, email address, and anything you write in the message fields. We use it only to respond to you, coordinate volunteering, and share the updates you asked for.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location, device type). This runs for every visitor so we can see whether the site is working.
  • Advertising. We do not run advertising tracking on this site. The cookie banner still lets you decline advertising cookies, and that choice is recorded and honoured if that ever changes.
  • Hosting logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses and requested pages) to run and secure the service.

KCF AI

If you use the KCF AI assistant, the messages you type are sent to our servers and to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a reply. Don't include sensitive personal information in chat messages. We use conversations to answer you and to keep the assistant safe and accurate.

Accounts

Most of this site needs no account. You can create a free account (sign up) or sign in at /login for the volunteer dashboard and team portal. When you sign up, we store your email address, name, and a hashed password with our database provider (Supabase) — we never see your password. Account emails (such as sign-up confirmation and password reset) are sent only to operate your account. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.

What we don't do

  • We do not sell or rent personal information.
  • We do not run third-party advertising or ad profiling, and we do not share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not process payments or donations on this site — online giving is not live yet, so no payment details are ever collected here.

Who we share data with

Only the service providers that run this site — hosting (Netlify), database (Supabase), analytics (Google), and AI (Anthropic) — each receiving only what they need to provide their service, plus disclosures required by law.

Your choices and rights

  • Decline non-essential cookies via the cookie banner.
  • Unsubscribe from any email by replying “unsubscribe”.
  • Email us to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted — we honour applicable privacy-law requests.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
